Your home. Your light. Your real life.

Newborn photography on the South Shore works best when it stays honest. The images that families keep for decades — the ones that end up framed, not just saved on a hard drive — are the ones that capture something real. A baby sleeping across a parent's chest. An older sibling leaning in for a look. Morning window light falling across the nursery.

In-home lifestyle sessions let all of that happen naturally. We work with the light in your home, the rhythm of your baby's day, and the actual physical space where your family lives. The result is a gallery that feels like your life at this specific moment — not a magazine spread, not a studio catalog, not a set of props staged to look cozy. Just your family, genuinely captured.

Sessions run 2–3 hours, fully paced around the baby. Feeding breaks, diaper changes, and settling time are built in. There is no rushing. The best newborn images come from waiting for the right moment, not forcing it.

Two ideal newborn session windows.

5–14 days old

The sleepy, curled-up stage. Newborns in this window sleep for long stretches, curl naturally into tight positions, and are still adjusting to the outside world. This is when you get the most tender, intimate images — the tiny hands, the scrunched poses, the complete trust in the parents holding them.

4–8 weeks old

More awake and aware. Eyes open, beginning to track and focus, and the first social smiles starting to appear. This window produces images with more expression and interaction — the baby's emerging personality starting to show.

Book Your Session

Newborn photography — your questions answered.

When should I schedule a newborn session?

Two ideal windows: 5–14 days for the sleepy, curled-up stage with long sleep stretches; 4–8 weeks for more awake, expressive images with emerging eye contact and early smiles. Book in your second or third trimester — we adjust timing once the baby arrives.

Do you do in-home or studio newborn sessions?

South Shore Photography specializes in in-home lifestyle sessions — we come to you. Your home provides the right environment, familiar comfort, and natural window light. The images show your real space and capture your actual life, not a generic studio setup.

How long does a newborn session take?

2–3 hours, fully paced around your baby. Feeding breaks, diaper changes, and settling time are built in. The best newborn images come from waiting for the right moment — we never rush.

Can siblings and parents be included?

Absolutely — sibling images are often the most treasured in the gallery. We include solo newborn portraits first, then bring in siblings and parents naturally. Young siblings' energy is worked with, not controlled.

How much does a newborn session cost?

Sessions start at $495, including pre-session consultation, a 2–3 hour in-home lifestyle session, and 40–60 fully retouched images within two weeks. Reach out for full pricing.
