GETTING STARTED
South Shore Photography is located at 83 E Water St, Rockland, MA 02370. The studio is easy to find, with free parking. Sessions are available at the Rockland studio or on-location throughout the South Shore — Hingham, Scituate, Norwell, Duxbury, Plymouth, Hull, Marshfield, and 12+ other towns.
South Shore Photography offers headshots, LinkedIn headshots, senior portraits, family portraits, maternity portraits, personal branding photography, birthday photoshoots, corporate event photography, and real estate agent headshots.
Headshot sessions start at $395. Senior portrait, family portrait, and maternity sessions start at $495. Personal branding sessions start at $895. Birthday and event photography are quoted based on coverage time and scope. All sessions include a pre-session consultation, professional retouching, and delivery in an online gallery.
The easiest way to book is through the contact page or by calling (781) 312-8824. After reaching out, we schedule a brief consultation to discuss your goals, preferred locations, dates, and any specific requests. A deposit secures your date.
For headshots and individual sessions, 1–2 weeks in advance is usually sufficient. For senior portraits — especially fall foliage sessions — book 4–8 weeks ahead. October dates fill quickly. For family portraits during peak seasons (May–June and September–October), 3–6 weeks ahead is ideal.
SESSIONS & LOCATIONS
Outdoor sessions take place at locations throughout the South Shore chosen to fit your session type and goals. Popular locations include Scituate Harbor, Hingham Harbor and World's End, Duxbury Beach, Plymouth Long Beach, Nantasket Beach in Hull, and the North River corridor. We discuss and agree on locations in advance. See all service areas.
Both. The Rockland studio offers controlled lighting, white and gray backgrounds, and a consistent environment ideal for headshots. On-location sessions throughout the South Shore are available for all session types. Many clients combine both — outdoor images at a scenic location followed by a brief studio component.
Yes. Family sessions routinely include infants, toddlers, and children of all ages. Sessions are paced to keep young children comfortable and engaged — there is no forcing poses or rushing. The best family portraits come when everyone is relaxed, and that is how the sessions are run.
Pets are welcome at outdoor sessions — mention it when booking and we will plan a location and session structure that works. Dogs are common in family and senior portrait sessions. Pets are not permitted in the Rockland studio.

PREPARATION
Wear clothing that reflects how you actually dress and feel comfortable. Avoid busy patterns, logos, and clothing that is distractingly trendy — solid colors and simple textures hold up better in photographs. For headshots, business casual or professional attire is standard. For family sessions, coordinate colors loosely without matching exactly. A detailed wardrobe guide is sent to every client after booking.
Weather reschedules are always honored at no charge. If rain makes an outdoor session impractical, we reschedule at no cost. Overcast days without rain are often excellent for portraits — the soft, even light is very flattering — so mild clouds are not a reason to reschedule.
PHOTOS & DELIVERY
Headshot sessions typically include 15–25 fully retouched images. Senior portrait and family sessions include 40–60 images. Personal branding sessions include 60–100+ images depending on session length. All delivered images are professionally retouched.
Headshot galleries are typically delivered within 5–7 business days. Senior portrait and family galleries within 10–14 business days. Branding and event galleries within 2 weeks. All images are delivered via a private online gallery with download, sharing, and print ordering.
Yes. Every delivered image is professionally retouched — skin smoothing, blemish removal, exposure and color correction, and background cleanup where needed. The goal is to look like yourself at your best, not heavily filtered.
