BIRTHDAY PHOTOSHOOTS
Milestone celebrations that deserve more than a phone snapshot.

CORPORATE EVENTS
Professional coverage that reflects the quality of your company.
Conferences, award ceremonies, holiday parties, product launches, team-building events — we provide professional coverage that you can use for internal communications, social media, press, and marketing materials.

OUR APPROACH
What does professional event photography coverage include?
The best event photography happens when people forget there's a photographer in the room. We work efficiently and unobtrusively — capturing genuine reactions, real laughter, and authentic moments rather than staged poses. Based in Rockland, MA, we cover events across the South Shore and Greater Boston.
We arrive early to scout the space, identify the key moments and people, and position ourselves to capture everything. The result is a complete visual story of your event.

WHAT MAKES THIS SESSION DIFFERENT
How does event photography work, from booking to gallery delivery?
Every event engagement starts with a pre-event walkthrough — either in person at the venue or via a detailed brief for out-of-area events. We map the space: where key moments will happen, where the light is, which corners go dark after sunset, and who the VIP attendees or speakers are. That preparation is the difference between coverage that captures everything and coverage that misses the moment because the photographer was in the wrong position.
The gear setup changes depending on the event type. For low-light indoor corporate events — conference rooms, award ceremonies, evening galas — we use fast prime lenses and off-camera flash techniques that produce clean, professional images without the harsh on-camera flash look. For outdoor celebrations on the South Shore, we work with natural light whenever possible and add fill flash selectively. Larger multi-room events out of our Rockland, MA base may call for a second shooter to ensure simultaneous coverage; we discuss that during the inquiry phase.
Gallery organization matters more than most clients realize until they're trying to pull specific images for press or social media. We organize event galleries by timeline segment and, for corporate clients, tag key speakers and award recipients so images are searchable. Sponsors and team leads receive a clearly labeled gallery they can navigate without hunting. Rush delivery — within 48–72 hours — is available for corporate clients who need images for Monday morning press cycles. Standard delivery is within two weeks from our Rockland editing studio.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about event photography on the South Shore
How far in advance should I book event photography coverage?
As soon as you have a confirmed event date, reach out to secure your booking. Weekend dates — especially Fridays and Saturdays — and dates around major holidays fill up quickly, sometimes months in advance. For corporate events tied to seasonal calendars like holiday parties, award ceremonies, and annual conferences, booking 8–12 weeks ahead is strongly recommended. For milestone birthday celebrations and private parties, 4–8 weeks is the typical lead time. We do accommodate shorter-notice bookings when our schedule allows — if you have an event coming up in the next few weeks, it's worth reaching out to check availability rather than assuming we're booked. Securing coverage early also gives us time to do a proper pre-event walkthrough and briefing, which produces significantly better results than arriving day-of without preparation.
How many photographers will cover my event?
Most events — birthday celebrations, corporate gatherings up to 100–150 guests, and smaller private parties — are covered effectively by one photographer. South Shore Photography is based in Rockland, MA and our lead photographer handles the majority of event bookings with full coverage from start to finish. For larger events with 150 or more guests, multi-room venues, simultaneous programming happening in different spaces, or complex timelines that require capturing two things at once, a second photographer adds meaningful coverage. We assess this during the inquiry process based on your event schedule, venue layout, and priority moments. Second photographer rates are available and we can discuss whether the investment makes sense for your specific event. We never recommend additional coverage when one photographer can do the job.
How long until I receive the event photos?
Standard event gallery delivery from South Shore Photography is within two weeks of your event date. For most birthday celebrations, private parties, and corporate events, this timeline gives you professionally edited images delivered to a private online gallery where you can download full-resolution files and share with guests or colleagues. Rush delivery — within 48–72 hours of the event — is available for corporate clients who need images quickly for press releases, Monday morning communications, social media posts, or sponsor recap reports. Rush delivery is quoted at the time of booking and depends on the volume of images from your event. If you have a specific delivery deadline, mention it during your inquiry so we can factor it into our agreement and post-production workflow from the start.
Do you travel for events outside of Rockland?
Yes — South Shore Photography covers events throughout the South Shore and Greater Boston area, well beyond our Rockland, MA base. We regularly photograph corporate events and celebrations in Hingham, Norwell, Scituate, Cohasset, Duxbury, Plymouth, Marshfield, and surrounding communities. We also cover events in Boston, the North Shore, and MetroWest when the event scope warrants it. Travel fees apply for events located more than 30 miles from Rockland to cover drive time and fuel; the fee is determined by distance and is quoted transparently at the time of your inquiry. For multi-day corporate events or conferences requiring overnight travel, we discuss logistics and accommodations during the planning process. Distance is rarely a barrier — if the event is the right fit, we make it work.
