These are the three locations I come back to most for North Quincy seniors, each with its own distinct character.

Wollaston Beach. This is the signature North Quincy location, and for good reason. The long seawall gives us a clean, graphic line to work with, the sand and open water fill the frame with texture, and at golden hour the Boston skyline sits directly across Quincy Bay, catching the last light of the day. No other high school on the South Shore has a downtown skyline as a natural backdrop. It reads as unmistakably Quincy rather than a generic beach photo.

The beach also gives us range within a single location. We can shoot tight against the seawall for a clean, minimal look, move down onto the sand for something more relaxed and candid, or work the water's edge for reflections when the tide cooperates. For seniors who want the skyline in frame, timing matters — I plan Wollaston sessions around sunset so the light over Boston is warm rather than flat.

Marina Bay and Squantum. A few minutes north of Wollaston, Marina Bay is the most modern, editorial-feeling location in the city. The boardwalk, the marina full of boats, and the harbor light bouncing off the water give portraits a cleaner, more polished look than a traditional beach or park setting. Squantum, just around the point, adds quieter residential streets and additional water views without the crowds you sometimes get at Marina Bay in the evening.

This pairing works especially well for seniors who want their gallery to feel less like a typical senior portrait set and more like a lifestyle shoot. It is a location that photographs beautifully in fall, when the tree canopy turns and the light filters through in warm, dappled patches.

This is the location I recommend when a senior wants portraits with more texture and depth rather than the wide-open sky and water look of the beach locations. It also works well as a rain backup for beach sessions, since the tree cover offers some shelter and a completely different visual mood if weather forces a change of plans.

When North Quincy High Seniors Should Book

Timing for North Quincy sessions is driven almost entirely by the yearbook deadline. Most seniors need a submitted photo well before the yearbook committee's cutoff, which typically falls in the fall, so the real planning window opens the spring before senior year even starts. If your photo needs to make print, work backward from that deadline and book at least six to eight weeks ahead of it to leave room for editing and any reschedule due to weather.
