Kingston occupies the territory between the famous beaches of Duxbury and the historic waterfront of Plymouth, and it has its own shooting spots that are worth knowing. The town is compact, which means we can move between tidal coast and inland lake within minutes — a flexibility that's useful when we want variety within a single session.
Gray's Beach (Shipyard Park) is the standout location. At low tide, the tidal flats at the mouth of the Jones River extend wide and reflect the sky, giving us an expansive, almost surreal coastal landscape. Across Kingston Bay, Duxbury Beach stretches on the horizon — a view that makes Gray's Beach feel even more open than it is. The park has easy parking and a long boardwalk that photographs well for walking portraits.
Silver Lake is one of the larger freshwater lakes in the region and offers a wooded shoreline that photographs beautifully for families and seniors who want a more natural, inland feel. The Jones River Wildlife Management Area along the Kingston/Duxbury border adds quiet river marsh scenery to the mix — great for sessions where you want golden light on the water without driving to the coast.
