Where we shoot engagement sessions in Hanover.

Forge Pond Forge Pond is one of the most beautiful freshwater portrait locations on the entire South Shore — a scenic pond surrounded by mature trees, with a dam, a small waterfall, and wooded walking paths along the shoreline. The pond reflects the surrounding foliage beautifully in fall, and the historic mill dam area creates a genuinely distinctive backdrop that most South Shore locations cannot replicate.

Indian Head River The Indian Head River corridor runs through Hanover and provides wooded river-adjacent engagement settings — a quiet, nature-immersed environment with river sounds, wooded banks, and the soft natural light of a sheltered river valley. Luddam's Ford Park on the river provides easy access to the most scenic sections.

Hanover Town Forest and Curtis Reservation The Hanover Town Forest and adjacent Curtis Reservation provide wooded conservation trail settings — quiet, private, and well away from any residential or commercial activity. These locations work well for couples who want to feel genuinely immersed in nature for their engagement session.

Engagement sessions in Hanover — what to expect.

Hanover is one of my favorite places to shoot engagement sessions on the South Shore — Forge Pond in October is genuinely special. The combination of the historic mill dam, the pond reflections, and the fall foliage creates images with a depth and character that's hard to find elsewhere on the coast.

South Shore Photography is based in Rockland, about 10-15 minutes from Hanover. I shoot in Hanover regularly throughout the year and know Forge Pond and the Indian Head River well — the light, the seasonal changes, and which spots work best at different times of day.
