ENGAGEMENT LOCATIONS IN QUINCY
Wollaston Beach Wollaston Beach is one of the most accessible ocean beaches on the South Shore — a long, wide stretch of sand on Quincy Bay with open water views, a classic New England waterfront boulevard, and easy parking. The beach faces west, which means sunset and golden hour light hits it directly — making late afternoon sessions particularly beautiful for engagement portraits.
Merrymount Park Merrymount Park is a hidden gem for Quincy engagement sessions — a large formal park with Japanese cherry trees (spectacular in late April), wooded paths, a pond shoreline, and open meadow areas. The cherry blossoms in spring make this one of the most visually striking engagement photo settings on the entire South Shore.
Quincy Shore Drive and Squantum The Quincy Shore Drive waterfront and the Squantum peninsula provide additional coastal options — tidal flats, harbor views, and open water backdrops with a distinctly urban-coastal character. Squantum has a quieter, residential waterfront feel that works well for couples who want coastal character without the beach crowd.
ABOUT THE SESSIONS
Quincy is the northernmost town on my regular South Shore coverage area and has genuinely distinctive engagement settings — especially Merrymount Park in late April when the cherry trees are in full bloom. That window is brief but the images it produces are unlike anything else on the South Shore.
South Shore Photography is based in Rockland, about 30 minutes from Quincy. I regularly shoot in Quincy for engagement, maternity, and family sessions. Wollaston Beach at golden hour in September is one of my favorite settings anywhere on the coast.

Late April at Merrymount Park for the cherry blossoms — this is the single best window for that location. Wollaston Beach is best in September and October when the crowds thin and the sunset light is warm and direct. Summer evenings starting around 7 PM produce the best golden hour light at the beach.
