FAMILY PORTRAIT LOCATIONS IN WEYMOUTH
Great Esker Park is one of the most visually distinctive locations on the South Shore — a glacial esker ridge that rises above the surrounding wetlands and forest, offering elevated trails, open viewpoints, and a landscape that looks unlike anything else in the region. Family portraits here have a sense of scale and drama that flat beach or park sessions cannot produce. The fall foliage from the ridge in October is exceptional.
Webb Memorial State Park sits on a peninsula at the junction of the Weymouth Fore River and the ocean, with broad waterfront views and open grassy areas ideal for golden-hour family sessions. The expansive views make it a great choice for families who want coastal imagery without the crowd density of popular beach locations.
Weymouth Back River conservation areas offer quiet, forested settings along the tidal river with natural light, wooded trails, and a private, unhurried atmosphere. Good for families who want candid, natural images away from open-beach energy.
ABOUT THE SESSIONS
South Shore Photography is based in Rockland, about 15-20 minutes from Weymouth center. Sessions in Weymouth are outdoor, relaxed, and paced around your family. Weymouth's parks are genuinely underused as portrait locations — most families default to the same beaches further south, which means the images you get here will look different from everyone else's.
Great Esker Park fall dates fill up faster than most Weymouth clients expect. If you want fall portraits there, reach out in August to hold your date.
